Happy Day!!

Happy Greetings to all of you!!!
I had the most wonderful day yesterday! After a very stressful week with my both men staying at home with a bad flu. They decided to visit my father-in-law for the whole Sunday. So, I had a full day on my own. I can´t remember having such a day since my little one was born. It was soo great, I took a long bath and finished reading a book while drinking a huge cup of hot chocolate topped with cream and lots of happy pearls.

And I had time to crochet after a long week without even touching my crochet hook.

Do you think you cannot top such a wonderful day?? Oooh, you can!!!
In the evening, I switched on my computer, I wanted to catch up reading all your blog posts, I missed last week. Jill´s post jumped in my eyes first. And I still cannot believe it! I have won the Beautiful Blogger Blanket!!!!!! Remember, I have posted about it here a few weeks ago. I guess, I was sitting speechless for quite a while in front of my computer, reading Jill´s post again and again. Then I started crying lots of happy tears, while jumping up and down like a crazy rabbit. It is so amazing! This blanket is such a treasure made by so many talented crocheters from all over the world. And so many of them, I would call my friends, although I haven´t met them personally! This makes it so precious to me. It is such an honour! I don´t know how to thank all of you, especially Jill. She has done an amazing job! Maybe, I should write you a Thank-you letter every day for one year! But I guess, you don´t want that! :o)
So, I would love to host the next Beautiful Blogger Blanket of 2013, if there is interest. Collecting the squares, sewing them together, making a nice border and sending the blanket to the lucky winner. What do you think? Would you like to participate again?

One a day- Update

Hello everybody!

Here I am with my One-a-Day blanket. I have joined all squares together and sewn all ends in so far. I love to work on this blanket! I wonder why I haven´t made granny squares before?
They are so much fun, it is so exciting to see how the different colour combinations turn out in the end.
I´m thinking to add another 6 big squares and keep the border small, like two rows maybe. It should not be too big for my little son.
I´m in a hurry today, because we have carnival here at the moment and we are invited to a big costume party in the afternoon. I will be a princess and my little one will be a knight. :o) So much fun!

I hate spiders, although they are harmless and very helpful little creatures here, they really freak me out.
I will never forget, when we spent our holidays in Florida several years ago. There was a black widow spider sitting in the corner of the ladies bathroom and I started screaming like crazy! So my husband knocked at the door asking what happened and I told him. He said, oh great, take a picture, and I said no I cannot move. So my poor husband had to come inside to get me out of there.

I love the sound of seagulls. It makes me happy, I don´t know why. When we lived in Irland, the first thing I heard in the morning were the seagulls. I really miss that.

I´m always running around searching for stuff like my keys or my sewing needles. I don´t know everything tends to dissapear in my house. I really have to be more organized. I´m loosing so much time every day!

I cannot live without chocolate, I love it.

5
I don´t like to drink alcohol. It tastes horrible for me. Even in cakes or chocolate. I guess the total amount of alcohol I had in my life is less than one glass.

I´m trying to concieve at the moment, I would really love to have a baby again in our house.

I hate being photographed, because I always make strange faces.

My new one a day project!

Hello!
Today, it will be a very short post, cause my little one and I have caught a very bad flu. It is the first time since Saturday, that I am out of my bed for a short time.
Just wanted to show you my new project, I have started last week. I have decided to make this blanket and joined Kashi´s Blanket Statement CAL at Ravelry. And I love it so much! Those little squares are really addictive! I will make the blanket for my little son, so it will be a bit bigger than Lucy´s in the end.

Flower Square Pattern

The pattern is in US-terms!
For the square:
Start with a magic ring, or chain 4 and form a ring
Rnd1- Ch2 (counts as hdc), 11 hdc in the ring, join with slip stich to second chain of ch2 [12hdc]

Rnd2- Ch4 (counts as dc and ch1), 1dc into the same stich, * ch1, skip 1 stich, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into the next stich, repeat from * around ch1 and join with slip stich to third chain of beginning ch4 [12 dc, 12 ch1 spaces]

Rnd3- Ch3 (counts as dc), 5 dc (1dc in ch1 space, 1dc in next dc, ....), ch2, * 6dc, ch2, repeat from * around, join with slip stich to third chain of ch3

Rnd4- Ch3 (counts as dc), 5 dc , (2dc ,ch 2, 2dc) into chain 2 space, * 6dc, (2dc ,ch 2, 2dc) into chain 2 space, repeat from * around, join with slip stich to third chain of ch3 (here I have changed the colour)

Rnd5- Ch3 (counts as dc), 9 dc ,(2dc ,ch 3, 2dc) into chain 2 space, * 10dc, (2dc , ch 3 , 2dc) into chain 2 space, repeat from * around, join with slip stich to third chain of ch3. Fasten off.

For the flower:
The flower will be attached into the first round of the square. There are 6 unused hdc left now.
Rnd1- Slip stich into one of the unused hdc stiches , ch 2, * 1 sc into the next unused hdc, ch2, repeat from * around, join with slip stich [6 ch2 loops]

Rnd2- (sc, ch2, dc, dc, ch2, sc ) in next ch2 loop, repeat around and join with a slip stich to first sc. Fasten off and sew in the ends! :)

Beautiful Blogger Blanket 2012

Finally I have finished my squares for the Beautiful Blogger Blanket 2012!
If you haven´t heard about it yet, you will learn everything here. Jill had this wonderful idea to make a blanket with squares send from bloggers all over the world. This is going to be amazing in the end! And one lucky person will win this blanket! So, if you are interested, it is still time to start a square or more and send them over to Jill until January 31!
I was thinking a lot, what pattern I will use for my squares. I wanted something with a little flower in the middle, because flowers were the first crochet item, I have learned to do, one year ago. So I was searching for a pattern, but couldn´t find the right one. So, I tried to write my own. It wasn´t so easy for me and took me two days to get it right, but now I am happy with it. So here there are, I hope you like them!

I have used Rico essentials cotton dk, which I have got in our local yarn shop and some rests I had in my stash. I´m trying to write the pattern down for you and post it here soon!

Weekend fun!

Hello!
I hope you had such a wonderful weekend, too! Finally we got enough snow to test the new sled Santa Clause had brought for my little one. You can´t imagine how hard it is for a little boy to get a sled for Christmas and there is no snow at all for weeks! My poor boy!
So we had a lot of fun yesterday, building a snowman, making snowball fights and I had a nice time sitting in the sun watching my little man climbing up the hill and coming down for a million times.

Later at home I have made vanilla pudding topped with super yummy chocolate sauce made from Janette´s recipe. We all loved it a lot! :)

Filled in a nice bottle, this makes a great homemade gift too!

Finally, I have finished my granny squares for the Beautiful Blogger Blanket. I will show them to you later this week, when they are done with blocking!

First of all I wish you all a very happy New Year full of joy and creativity!
Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments on my finished blanket. This meant a lot to me!
My little niece loved the blanket very much. It was the first time she stayed over night, so I was a little worried. But all went very well. :o)

My poor ripple blanket hasn´t got much attention in the last weeks. I have made only 4 rows more, than the last time I have shown it to you. I hope it will grow much faster now!

Hello my friends!
I finally made it!!! Thank you so much for all your support and your wonderful comments on my blanket every time. I couldn´t have done it without you!
So this is our guest bed, where my little niece will sleep the next week after Christmas, I hope she will like it! See, my little one is lurking in the corner, he couldn´t wait to jump on the bed!

Statistics:
Yarn: 16 balls of rico baby classic in 8 different colours. The total weight is 800g.
Time: 25.09.2011--23.12.2011 with a few breaks inbetween
Size: 110x205cm, 45x80 inches

Hello everybody!
I have participated in the "We love Lucy Christmas Swap" at Ravelry. And last week I have got the most wonderful package from Scotland, sent from my swap-partner Neiline! I had so much fun searching for some little presents for her! We changed lots of mails and the best part we decided to stay in contact. So I have got lots of presents and a new friend! I am so happy!

One A Day----Week 10

Hello everybody!
I have to say I am still not finished with my blanket! I have around two more weeks to go. But it is still my goal to finish it before Christmas! I don´t have to work next week, so I will have plenty of time for it. I am thinking about the border now, it should be red, but I´m not sure which pattern I should choose. So your ideas are most welcome!

Today we have St. Nicholas Day here, all my family will come together in the evening waiting for Saint Nicholas, who will knock on our door and give the children lots of sweets and little presents. All the children are very excited and unusual very quiet not to miss the knocking on the door. So we all will have a happy family evening with a lot of good food and very happy children!

Christmas Crochet

We have horrible weather in the moment, very foggy and dark everywhere. so it is not easy to make nice photographs, I´m sorry!

Our Advent-Calendar

Hello everybody!
Sorry that I haven´t written anything here for such a long time. I had a very bad ear infection and wasn´t able to write here for more than two weeks. But I am much better now! :)
Thank you so much for writing me and asking how I feel, this made me very happy!
Today I want to show you our Advent-Activity-Calendar!
I have written 24 little letters with different activities, I want to do with my little one on that day. And as a replacement for the letter I will put a crochet item there. Can you see it hanging there at the end?

It is a cute little Christmas sock made with Sucrettes super fun pattern.

So todays activity was baking cookies, which was a lot of fun. Ok, my kitchen is a total mess now and there are little sugar pearls everywere, but we have made a lot of delicious cookies!
Here is the recipe, if you want to try them too!

Christmas Cookies

250g butter
125g  margarine
4      eggyolks and one extra,
        if you want to spread it onto the cookies before baking
16g    vanilla sugar
200g sugar
500g flour

Mix everything and before making the cookies, put the dough in the fridge for 1 hour.
Bake them at 200°C/392F for 10min

One A Day----Week 9

Hello everybody!
I wasn´t able to show you my progress last week, because I haven´t made a single row the week before. My husband stayed at home for a few days, this has kicked me out of my routine and I decided, after a lot of calculating : ) that one week off would not be too bad, I can still finish my blanket until Christmas. Although, I love to work on it, one week off felt really good. So, now I am in row 105, still 85 rows to go!
Some of you have asked me about my pattern last time. Mostly, I am using sc and dc rows, but here and there I am doing some special rows. I am choosing the next stiches, while working on the row before . So, I´m not following a special pattern.

One A Day-----Week 8

Hello everybody!
Today is the first day of school after a two weeks break, so I´m quite busy with cleaning everything. I managed to buy my yarn on Saturday with the help of my husband. He kept my little one busy, so I had plenty of time to grab my yarn.
I´m in row 90 of my blanket now, so nearly half of it is done. I want to do around 190 rows, so only seven more weeks!! : )
I haven´t made any progress with my ripple blanket, I thought I could get up early in the morning to do a row or two every day, but my little one woke me up at 6 every morning. And today, it took me from 6 until 6.45 to get him out of his bed. Like every morning, except during holidays. Grrrh!

One A Day----Week 7

Hello everybody!
Thank you so much for all your comments last week. You made me so happy and encouraged me to go on. Maybe without you, I had given up already, I´m not very good in finishing long term projects.
I´m in row 75 of my blanket now and run out of my first ball of yarn, the turquoise. Which is together with the red my favourite colour in this blanket. I hope I can manage to go to our yarn shop this week! We have school holidays in the moment and my little one is at home the whole day. And he loves visits at the yarn shop, he loves to grab all the yarn from the shelves and throw it at the bottom! So most of the time I am busy with putting all the yarn back in the shelves, while he is going on with the yarn shelves behind me. So maybe, if I am very fast, run to the right shelf, grab the yarn and run to the checkout, I will be able to trick him out. But I will look very funny then. : )

And I couldn´t resist, I have started a ripple blanket last week. I´m doing only one row every day. It is a bit tricky, to work on it for me. I often count wrong and have to rip off the whole row because of it. So actually most of the time I did two rows a day. ; ) I hope I will get used to the pattern soon.

Sorry for the bad pictures, I made them at 7 in the morning. We will be on a day trip today, so I will visit you all tomorrow!

One a Day-----Week 6

Hello everybody!
I finished row 50 of my blanket yesterday. Then I started calculating and found out that I will finish my blanket around Christmas, if I´m going on like this. Which would be perfect, because I wanted to present myself yarn for a new blanket as a my very own chrismas present. So I could start a new blanket right on Christmas. I was really happy with this idea. I´ve decided to make a ripple blanket as my next project. So everything was fine, until I saw Lucy´s post in the evening. Oh my!! The whole night I was thinking, shall I start with the next blanket right now and join the ripple-a-long or shall I stick to my plan??? Oh, I have to resist, I have to!! I hope I´m strong enough! : )

I love how my new cushion looks together with my blanket! : )

Blumenkissen Banju---Flower Cushion

Hallo ihr Lieben!
Mein gehäkeltes Kissen ist endlich nicht mehr allein! Seit gestern wohnt Banju bei uns und fühlt sich pudelwohl! Vor zwei Tagen hab ich das Kissen bei farbenmix gesehen und wusste gleich, das muß ich haben. Also blieb die Hausarbeit für einen Tag liegen, bis es fertig war. Und ich liebe es!! Jedes mal wenn ich an ihm vorbeigehe, bringt es mich zum Lächeln. Die Anleitung dafür gibt es hier zu kaufen.

Two days ago I saw this beautiful cushion and as always I had to make it! :) So no housework for one day, until it was finished. And I love it soo much, everytime I walk by , it makes me smile!

One A Day-----Week 5

Hello everybody!
I hope you all are fine. I really enjoyed reading all your comments last week and visiting all your blogs seeing your progress with your wonderful projects.
I want to show you first, what kept me away from my blanket last week. I made a shawl for my Aunts birthday, which had to be finished on Friday. When we last met, 6 month ago, I have told her, that I have just started to crochet and she reacted like most of the people, when I am telling that. Like oh no, why you are doing that? It is so boring.( crochet is not very common here) So, I have decided to make her a shawl, which will knock her out of her shoes. And it worked, she was speechless for a moment. I guess, her opinion about crochet has changed now! : )

Pattern

My blanket has grown a little bit, I have 36 rows now. On Sunday, I have started to sew in the ends and it was a lot to sew in. I have decided to do this every Sunday now, instead of doing this all in the end.

Hello everybody!
Thank you so much for all your comments you have left for me last week. Every word from you made me so happy!
So, last week I have finished my cushion and I really love it. It is the first crochet cushion I have finished and I´m sure that there will be more in the future. Now it is sitting on our couch and waiting for company.

Pattern

I haven´t made much progress with my woollie blanket, I have 22 rows now. But I still enjoy making it so much, I have to stop me from working on it in the moment, because I have to finish a birthday present for my aunt first. But I will have more time for it in the next week.

Schals---Scarves

I´m totally into scarves making in the moment. I want to show you my last three scarves today.

Habt ihr auch so Phasen, wo ihr immer wieder das gleiche machen wollt? Ich bin gerade in der Schal-Phase, die aber bald von der Kissenhüllenphase abgelöst wird glaube ich. Ich habe in den letzten Wochen 4 Schals gehäkelt und mit dem 5. bin ich fast fertig.
Drei davon kann ich schon zeigen:
Luna Lovegood Scarf für eine Harry Potter verrückte Freundin, 2,5m lang. Aus Microfaser Wolle gehäkelt.

Anleitung/Pattern

Newidyn Shawlette, mal ausnahmsweise für mich, aus Soft Merino. Wunderschön zu häkeln, hat riesen Spaß gemacht.

One More Scarf, schon ein Weihnachtsgeschenk. Will ich aber unbedingt auch für mich noch häkeln, aus Sockenwolle. Ich hab den Tip bekommen den Schal vor dem Blocken in Wasser mit etwas Haarspülung zu legen, so ist er wunderbar weich geworden .

One a Day-----Week 3

Hello everybody!
First of all I want to thank you so much for your wonderful comments last week! You made me so happy! :)
Because I didn´t like my yarn so much, it is so thick, I have decided that my blanket would be a perfekt pillowcase. I have finished the front and now I´m working on the back. I´ve seen this wonderful pillowcase here and I wanted to try this pattern too. I have only a few more rows until it is finished. And I love it, I guess I will make some more in the future with different pattern.

I have started a new blanket last week, inspired by this beautiful blanket from little woollie. I´m doing a row here and there and choosing my colours and pattern randomly and it is so much fun not to follow a certain pattern!

Ich hab ganz vergessen, dass heute schon Dienstag ist, der Tag an dem ich euch immer meinen Decken-Fortschritt zeigen wollte! Ich hab mich letzte Woche doch entschieden alle Squares mit weiß zu umranden. Ich finde die Farben sehen jetzt schöner aus.

First of all congratulations to your award, Barbara! I love your blog so much! You always inspire me with your beautiful crochet work and lovely pictures. Dankeschön Barbara!
It is so hard to select only a few of all the wonderful blogs out there, which I love and admire, I wish I could pass this award on to all of you!
But I love the idea to share 7 things about myself! So here are mine:

1) I cannot swim, I´ve never learned it.
2) I lived in Irland for two years
My husbands company send him over there. I followed him and totally fell in love with this country and the people there. We were just searching for a little house near the ocean, when I got pregnant. So we decided to go back to Germany to raise our child within our families. But I´m still dreaming of this little house on the ocean! I´m sure, that we will go back and stay somewhere in the future.
3) My husband proposed to me at Niagara Falls and we got married on the next day in Toronto
4) I´m trying to loose my extra pounds from pregnancy for five years now
I started a lot of diets, but always failed. I love to eat, I can´t help it.
5) I love to wear skirts and red shoes, I guess, I have seen "The Wizard of Oz" to often as a child.
6) I`m collecting glas jars in my cellar
I have a huge collection now, because maybe I might need one someday, you never know!
7) I´m quite small, I stopped growing when I was 11 years old.

Ich möchte ja schon soo lange eine schöne große Granny-Decke häkeln, hab mich aber bisher nicht so getraut, weil ich nicht weiß, ob ich sie auch fertig bekommen würde. Ich häkel eigentlich lieber kleine schnelle Sachen und wenns ein bissl länger dauert, bleiben die Sachen dann liegen. So hab ich schon eine große Kiste voller angefangener Projekte. GingerbreadGirl hatte jetzt diese tolle Idee jeden Tag nur ein kleines Teil von etwas größerem wie einer Decke zu häkeln. Vielleicht schaffe ich es ja so, ein Square am Tag kann man ja immer nebenbei häkeln. Ich hab mir Lucy`s Summer Garden Granny Square ausgesucht und die Joining-Squares-As-You-Go Methode zum zusammenhäkeln. Mal sehen wie weit ich komme!

I always wanted to make a huge colourful blanket, but I`m not sure, if I can finish it.
I am more the small crochet things type, who always gives up, when it takes a bit longer. Last week, I have seen GingerbreadGirl ´s new projekt One a day, which is perfect for me! So I have started today with one square and tomorrow I will do the second. I guess it will take a looong time, but doesn´t matter, as long as I will finish it someday. I have decided to make Lucy`s Summer Garden Granny Square and the Joining-Squares-As-You-Go method, so I can see my blanket growing every day! :o)

Finished my first blanket!!

Hello everybody! I hope you are all fine, especially those who had experienced this bad earthquake yesterday. We had a huge storm here in the evening and the water was coming in our house through the front door and our garden was flooded, it was so scary.
Today I´ve sewed in the last loose ends from my "Rowan's Sampler Afghan" and now I´ve finished my first blanket!! :o)
It was a Crochet Along and you will find everything about it here.
The blanket is made of 16 9"x 9" squares all with a different pattern. In my case only 15, when I sewed the squares together I realized, that I made one twice and forgot another. Thats so me, I have to be more organized!!
I want to thank you so much Laurinda for sharing your crochet knowledge and teaching us all the new stitches. I had so much fun doing this!

WIP-Granny Blanket

Ich wollte doch noch zeigen, was ich im Urlaub angefangen habe. Leider bin ich noch nicht fertig, mir ist gestern die gelbe Wolle ausgegangen. Eigentlich soll es eine Decke werden, aber auf unserem Couchtisch macht sie sich auch ganz gut finde ich. Vor allem weil mein Kleiner schon ein paar Kratzer auf dem Tisch hinterlassen hat. Also es wird entweder eine Decke oder ein Kratzerverstecker, mal sehen. :o)

I wanted to show you, what I have done in my holidays. I´m not sure what I will do with it, when it´s finished. Originally, I wanted to make a blanket, but I also like it laying on our table. My sweet little son has made two big scratches on the table last week, so I don´t have to see them anymore. And Grannys always make me happy, so it would be very good for my little one. :o)

Back from holidays :o)

Today I want to show you, what we have done in the last two weeks! We stayed one day at home and the next day we made something nice. I enjoyed it so much having my two men around me the whole day! I guess sitting on the beach watching both playing ball in front of the sea was the highlight of our holidays. :o)
I have done a little bit of crochet too, but not so much. I will show you later this week!

Von der lieben Nicole habe ich letzte Woche diesen wunderschönen Helma Rock bekommen. Ich liebe ihn so sehr, besonders die kleinen Blümchen haben es mir angetan!

Für den Rock habe ich ihr ein Floriana-Mützchen in Gr.43 für ihre süße Kleine gehäkelt und dazu noch ein paar Blümchen.

Mein erster Gewinn!

Ich möchte euch unbedingt noch meinen Gewinn von der Verlosung bei der lieben Barbara zeigen!
Letzte Woche kam ich nicht dazu, weil ich meinem Vater geholfen habe, das Haus von oben bis unten zu Putzen. Er hatte seinen Keller neu verputzen lassen, und das hat so gestaubt, dass sogar in den Schränken zwei Stockwerke höher eine dicke Staubschicht lag. So mußten wir wirklich alles ausräumen und putzen von den Teppichen bis zu den Gardinen. Ich denke, ihr könnt es euch vorstellen. Ich war dann abends immer zu kaputt, um noch irgendetwas zu tun. Naja, der Stein kam auf jeden Fall im richtigen Moment, um mich wieder aufzumuntern! :o) Ist er nicht wunderschön!! Supertoll gehäkelt mit ganz feinen regelmäßigen Maschen. Er hat jetzt einen Ehrenplatz bei mir im Wohnzimmer auf der Kommode bekommen.

Last week, I´ve got this lovely stone from Barbaras giveaway. Isn´t he gorgeous, I love him so much! I found a special place for him, so I can adore him every day!

I wanted to post this earlier, but I was very busy last week. I helped my father cleaning his whole house, after he had renovated his cellar. The dust from removing the old surface was really everywere, even two floors up inside the cupboards. It took us several days to clean everything. so I was very happy, when this wonderful stone reached me. :o)

Mobile-Socks--Handy Socken

Vor kurzem hab ich so süße gestrickte Handy Socken gesehen, da dachte ich, vielleicht kann man so was ja auch häkeln. Ich hab mal versucht aufzuschreiben, wie ich das gemacht habe. Ich hoffe man kann es verstehen.

Recently, I have seen very cute knitted mobile socks, so I was thinking, maybe I can do a crochet version of it. It is very easy to do, I will show you how I have done it!

Chain 8

8 Luftmaschen

1 sc in second chain from hook, and 1sc in every chain until the end-7sc

1 feste Masche in die zweite Masche von der Nadel, dann in jede Masche 1 feste Masche bis zum Ende-7 feste Maschen

Chain 1, turn, and now work in back loop only, 1sc in every stich until the end of the row--7sc

1 Wendeluftmasche, von nun an nur in die hintere Schlinge der Vormasche einstechen, in jede Masche eine feste Masche häkeln--7 fM

Chain 1, turn, 7sc in back loop, go on like this until you have reached the desired length (it should fit around your mobile phone easily)

1 Wendeluftmasche, 7 fM in die hintere Schlinge der Vormasche häkeln, dies so lange wiederholen bis die gewünschte Länge erreicht ist (es sollte bequem einmal um das Handy passen)

Join both sides with a slip stich into the first stich of your first row.

Nun werden beide Seiten mit einer Kettmasche verbunden, dafür einfach mit der Nadel in die erste Masche der ersten Reihe stechen und den Faden durchziehen

Now join both sides together by making sc´s until the end, put your hook through the back loop of the last row then through the loop of the first row, yarn over, go through the first 2 loops on your hook, yarn over, go through 2 loops, and if you like, you can take the loose end from the beginning with you. So you don´t have to sew it in later.

Nun einfach beide Seiten mit festen Maschen, wie auf dem Foto, zusammenhäkeln,ich gehe dabei mit der Nadel in die hintere Schlinge der letzten Reihe, dann durch die Schlinge der ersten Reihe, hole den Faden ziehe ihn durch die beiden ersten Schlingen auf der Nadel, hole wieder den Faden und ziehe ihn durch die restlichen beiden Schlingen. Ich häkele dabei immer den losen Anfangsfaden mit ein, dann brauche ich ihn später nicht vernähen.

Now chain 1 and crochet around the beginning row with sc, be careful where you set the stich, you must go through two loops with your hook, otherwise you will get a hole in your work. (see next picture). I have got 24 sc´s in the end.

1 Luftmasche häkeln und eine Runde feste Maschen in die Anfangsreihe häkeln. Darauf achten, dass man die Nadel immer in zwei Schlingen einsticht. Am Ende waren es bei mir 24 feste Maschen.

Now you are going around with sc in rounds, means at the end of the row, you do not join with a slip stich, until you have reached your desired length.

Die Reihe nicht mit einer Kettmasche beenden, sondern weiter feste Maschen in Runden häkeln, bis die gewünschte Länge erreicht ist.

Turn your work inside out and crochet both sides together. Therefore I went with my hook through the inner loop of one side and the outer loop from the other side(see picture)
Die Arbeit wenden und dann wieder die beiden Seiten mit festen Maschen zusammenhäkeln. Dafür bin ich mit der Nadel durch die beiden in der Mitte liegenden Schleifen gegangen.

Sew in the ends and decorate it as you like!

Den Faden vernähen, dekorieren und fertig! :o)

Buttons!!

We call these little ones buttons here, but I have no idea what it is in english, maybe applikations? I don´t know. Last week I made all these for a swap. I had a lot of fun doing it, I guess this is my favourite crochet object in the moment. First I draw a little picture, of what I want to have on the button and then I try to crochet it. Ok, sometimes it is not working. I made a little sheep, but my little son said it looks like a whale with legs, so I´m still working on the sheep thing. :o)

Meine ersten Grannys

Letzte Woche habe ich meine Grannys für Grannys for life fertiggehäkelt und abgeschickt. Das war das erste Mal, das ich Grannys gehäkelt habe und es hat mir riesigen Spass gemacht. Vielleicht häkel ich mir ja doch mal eine Decke, wenn nur das Zusammennähen nicht wär.

Last week I finished my first grannys for a charity project, I had a lot of fun making them. Maybe I will start a blanket in this way, I will see.

Sunny Pincushion

Am Wochenende war bei uns gar kein schönes Wetter, von morgens bis abends nur Regen, naja so hatte ich ein bißchen mehr Zeit zum häkeln. Zum Beispiel dieses süße Nadelkissen, nach einem Tutorial von der lieben Barbara von Made in k-town. Da ich noch einen einzelnen Fliegenpilzknopf hatte, wurde kurzerhand ein kleines Fliegenpilz Nadelkissen daraus.

Over the weekend I made this cute sunny pincushion, but it´s actually more a toadstool pincushion, because I had this sweet button and wondered for I while where to put it. Barbara from Made in k-town wrote a great tutorial for this pincushion over at her beautiful blog.

Topflappen--Potholder

Kennt ihr das, man sieht etwas im Internet und muß es sofort und auf der Stelle nachhäkeln? Mit diesen Topflappen ging es mir so. Das ist ja jetzt nicht unbedingt meine Farbe, sie gefallen mir aber auch in türkis sehr gut. Und es passt auch prima ich will heute nämlich noch einen Nußkuchen backen, da kann ich sie gleich ausprobieren.

Two days ago I saw these sweet potholders at Ravelry and I had to make them right away. Oh, and I like them so much, even though it is not my favourite colour. Luckily, I have to prepare a cake for my sons kindergarten today. So I can try them out. although they are so sweet, shall I really use them or shall I hang them somewhere in the kitchen?

Nußkuchen-Rezept

4 Eier

250g Zucker

2 Pck. Vanillezucker

250g Margarine

1 Tasse Milch

1 Pck. Backpulver

250g Mehl

200g gemahlene Haselnüsse

Alle Zutaten vermischen und bei 180°C für eine Stunde backen
Schmeckt gut mit Puderzucker, Zuckerguß oder Schokoguß.
Der Kuchen ist auch noch nach ein paar Tagen schön locker.

Birthday-Present

My "little" cousin turned 18years old last sunday. Here, it is a very special day for her, she will be officially a grown-up now. On such special days I always realize how fast the time goes by. It seems like yesterday when I had this sweet little baby in my arms with these big blue eyes and golden locks and now she is a beautiful woman. I hope my little son will stay little for a long time. It was a bit strange at her birthday party, because we all were crying a little. We gave her an album, where everybody had written something for her and put a picture inside. So reading this all had really make me cry, I don´t know why. Her older sister had a nice idea, we all have to give her another present during the next 12 months, so she will get a present every month until her next birthday. My turn is in february and my present is a book, so I have to start thinking what kind of book I will give her then. If anybody knows a good book for a 18year old let me know, I would be happy!
So this time I made her these fingerless mitts, I found at this beautiful blog. And a scarf in nearly the same pattern and I was glad she liked it a lot. The mitts are so easy to make and very fast too.

Legoland

Am Wochenende haben wir unseren kleinen Sohnemann zum glücklichsten Kind auf der Welt gemacht (seine Worte!) und sind mit ihm zum Legoland gefahren. Er liebt Lego über alles und besitzt selbst gefühlte 1 Millionen Legosteine, die mittlerweile die Macht über unser Haus übernommen haben, weil sie wirklich in jedem Zimmer herumliegen und es ist echt nicht leicht diese kleinen Dinger aufzuräumen.

Im Park ist er dann ganz aufgeregt herumgelaufen und hat jede Menge Fotos von den Lego-Bauwerken gemacht, die er dann zuhause nachbauen wollte. Auf der Rückfahrt hatten wir dann ein erschöpftes aber glücklich schlafendes Kind, mit einer kleinen Lego-Packung fest an sich gedrückt. (noch mehr Steine--urgs)

Meine ersten Socken!--My first pair of socks!

Als ich vor einiger Zeit Wolle kaufen war, habe ich mich doch glatt in ein Knäuel Sockenwolle verliebt. Alle meine Lieblingsfarben in einem Knäuel, das mußte ich einfach kaufen! Obwohl ich keine Ahnung hatte, wie man Socken häkelt, hab ich mir zwei Knäuel geschnappt und zur Kasse gebracht, da meinte die Verkäuferin doch, für Kindersocken bräuchte ich nur ein Knäuel --hmpf! Darauf sagte ich dann, knallrot im Gesicht, nee die sind für mich, da meinte sie, na dann nehmen sie doch lieber zwei! (nochmal hmpf!)
Nachdem ich dann mehrere Anleitungen ausprobiert hatte und ein paarmal gescheitert bin, hab ich dann ein tolles Buch gefunden, Socken häkeln von Tanja Müller, damit ging es ganz leicht.

A few weeks ago, I really fell in love with a ball of socks wool . All my favourite colours in one ball, I had to buy it! So I took two balls of it and as I wanted to pay for them, the saleslady said to me, oh for children you need only one ball! I guess I turned a little bit red in my face and said, oh no, this is for me. Then she said, ok then you will need the two of them.(hmpf!) But, I really love my new socks now, because they are so colorful and make me so happy!

Butterfly Mitts---Schmetterlings Armstulpen

Eigentlich ja im Moment nicht die richtige Jahreszeit dafür, sie haben mir aber so gut gefallen, daß ich sie unbedingt nachhäkeln mußte. Am Samstag hab ich sie dann auch mal ein wenig getragen, und furchtbar dabei geschwitzt.☺Ich werde wohl auf den Herbst warten müssen!

When I saw these mitts, I had to make them, I like butterflies so much! And when I finished them I had to wear them outside, but in the moment it is very warm and sunny here and after 30min I was sweating so much that I had to remove them, very sad! I guess, I have to wait until it is autum to wear them again.

Mothers-Day-Presents

Ich hoffe ihr hattet alle einen schönen Tag gestern! Mein Kleiner hat mich schon um 6 Uhr morgens geweckt, weil er mir unbedingt sein Geschenk geben wollte. Er hat auch etwas von mir bekommen. Einen Schildkröten-Anhänger, den hat er sich ganz dolle gewünscht. Ist ja eigentlich ein Kröfer, aber er wollte lieber eine Schildkröte, also hab ich einfach zwei der Beinchen weggelassen und dafür hinten noch ein kleines Schwänzchen dazu gehäkelt.

Baby-Shoes

I was in need for a gift for my friends newborn, which is due next week. So I was searching for a nice pattern and found this one. I had this yarn in my stash and thought it will look nicely, but I wasn´t prepared for this, that both shoes will look so different! So I have to do another one and hopefully it will fit to one of them. The pattern is really nice and it will go very fast, so next time I´m using such kind of yarn I´m more careful. Hi, hi!

Meine Freundin bekommt wahrscheinlich in der nächsten Woche ihr Baby, deswegen habe ich noch nach einer Anleitung für schöne Babyschuhe gesucht und diese hier gefunden. Ich hatte noch ein wenig bunte Wolle und dachte das sieht hinterher bestimmt gut aus. Aber damit hab ich nicht gerechnet, das beide Schuhe dann so unterschiedlich aussehen, oh Mann! Zum Glück sind die Schuhe ganz schnell zu häkeln und dann mache ich eben noch einen. Ich hoffe der passt dann auch zu einem der anderen. Naja, wieder was dazugelernt!

I love these little crochet buttons, they are quickly finished and you can decorate it so nicely. These are my first buttons, now I have a small box full it. My little son has put the owl on his bag, because he likes owls so much. And I like the little mushrooms!

Ich liebe Häkelbuttons, sie sind schnell fertig und man kann sie so toll verzieren. Das hier sind meine ersten Buttons, mittlerweile habe ich schon eine kleine Kiste voll. Eigentlich sollte die Eule auch einen Button verzieren. Mein Sohn fand sie aber soo toll, deshalb hab ich ihm daraus einen Eulenanhänger für seine Kindergartentasche gemacht. Naja und ich mag die kleinen Fliegenpilze unheimlich gerne.

If you will get cold feets while sitting on the couch in the evening, like I always do! These slippers are great to warm your feet. Very fast and easy to do. I like it soo much!
I used hdc instead of dc as described in the pattern and worked in rounds, because otherwise you will get a line which goes over the tip if the slippers.

Wenn man wie ich abends auf dem Sofa immer kalte Füße bekommt sind diese Slipper echt toll. Sie sind ganz schnell und einfach zu häkeln. Im Gegensatz zur Anleitung, habe ich sie mit halben Stäbchen gehäkelt, weil ich eher locker häkele und die Schuhspitze in Spiral-Runden, sonst bekommt man eine Naht, die oben über den Schuh verläuft.

Little Owl

My little son has big problems with scary ugly monsters in the moment. He often wakes me up in the middle of the night, because he thinks there is a monster hiding under his bed. Last week he asked me, if I can make him a little owl to protect him during the night, because he has learned at kindergarden, that owls are sleeping during the day and not in the nighttime. So far it has worked great, no monsters are hiding under the bed anymore!

Mein Kleiner ist grade in der Monsterphase und wacht öfters mitten in der Nacht auf, weil er denkt es versteckt sich ein Monster unter seinem Bett. Da er grade im Kindergarten gelernt hat, dass Eulen nachtaktive Tiere sind (das Wort gefällt ihm ganz besonders gut :o) ) kam er auf die Idee, ich könnte ihm doch eine Eule häkeln. Die passt jetzt Nachts auf ihn auf und verscheucht alle fiesen Monster.

Window-Flower

When I made the flower-picture yesterday, I had the idea to hang the biggest one of them on my door. So I took a piece of orange felt and glued the flower on it with stylefix, it`s a double-faced adhesive tape, and cut around it. So it looks good from both sides. It`s hanging on my living-room door now and cheers me up everytime I see it.

Als ich gestern meine Häkelblümchen fotografiert hatte, kam mir die Idee meine größte Blume mit Stylefix auf eine Filzplatte zu kleben und rundherum auszuschneiden. So kann man sie prima aufhängen und es sieht von beiden Seiten gut aus.

I’ve decided to write my blog also in english, because I want to learn the language and I like the idea to connect with people all over the world. In the last months I have found so many lovely inspiring blogs out there, thank you all for that! So I was thinking, maybe I can do the same and be creative. I’ve learned to crochet this year and I want to show you a little bit of my work and I hope you like it!

These flowers are my first crotchet work, the patterns are from a german ebook called "Eine Woche Häkelsommer"
